The Coalition for Maternal Health and Citizen Empowerment (CMCE) is a registered, community-based organization headquartered in the Ahafo Region of Ghana. Established in 1995, The name was changed to Centre for Maternal Health and Community Empowerment (CMCE) in 2010 which has  been re-registered in 2018 with the above name (Coalition for Maternal Health and Citizen Empowerment). CMCE has a consistent track record of working with reputable international NGOs, including a decade and half-long partnership with ActionAid Ghana, to tackle poverty, promote social justice, and strengthen citizen participation in governance.CMCE is registered with the Registrar General’s Department (No. CG029262018) and licensed with  the Non- Profit Organisation  Secretariat ,Department of Social Welfare with license Number (DSW/9703)

OUR IMPACTS

Established and supported 46 farmer groups in Asutifi North and South districts.

Provided farm inputs to 56 farmer groups for soybean and maize cultivation.

Trained 550 farmers in agribusiness, tenancy agreements, and post-harvest management techniques.

Organized annual food fairs benefiting 50 farmers.

Formed and strengthened Ecovista Clubs in 4 basic schools (Climate Change Clubs), building the capacity of 300 students on climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Facilitated the establishment of District Farmer Networks to enhance advocacy efforts.

Supported 140 women with livestock to increase household income.

Trained 130 youths in vocational skills including beadwork, detergent production, pastry making, and tiling in Asutifi North District.

Trained 125 Community-Based Anti-Violence Teams (COMBAT) across 25 communities to campaign against gender-based violence (GBV).

Conducted sensitization sessions for 3,650 women on exclusive breastfeeding, maternal and child nutrition, and safe motherhood practices.

Empowered 4,600 women with leadership skills to strengthen their participation in decision-making processes.

Provided counseling to 180 teenage mothers, with 45 successfully returning to and completing basic school.

Formed and trained Parents Teacher Associations (PTAs) in two districts to advocate for improved educational services.
